About Dr. Matthew Zhang, DDS in Katy, TX
Dr. Zhang provides comprehensive oral and maxillofacial surgical care to patients in Katy and the surrounding areas.
Dr. Matthew Zhang was born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Sugar Land, Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University, graduating summa cum laude. He then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio School of Dentistry.
Following dental school, he completed a one-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery internship in San Antonio before being selected for the four-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University.
During his residency, Dr. Zhang received comprehensive training in the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including dental implant surgery, wisdom tooth removal and dentoalveolar surgery, bone grafting and jaw reconstruction, facial trauma, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, oral pathology, and office-based anesthesia.
Dr. Zhang is committed to delivering safe, evidence-based treatment while ensuring every patient feels informed, comfortable, and respected throughout their surgical experience. He believes in treating each patient as he would a member of his own family and is dedicated to providing compassionate, individualized care tailored to each patient’s needs. Outside of the office, Dr. Zhang enjoys golfing, playing tennis, cooking, and traveling to experience new cultures and cuisines.
He currently practices at The Center for Oral & Facial Surgery, serving patients in Katy, Fulshear, and Richmond, TX, and welcomes new patients.
